So, got to the hospital to see Jee Ee. Pat smsed that she was also on the way. Went up to the 4th floor as Toam said. At the entrance, there was this menacing door with instructions. Really....at a hospital....read instructions on the door?
It wasn't very prominent. Finally, after deciding that the door wouldn't open anymore with me pulling on it...I READ the instructions. It said, press the bell on the side and stand behind the red line. Yes!!!! there was red tape on the floor demarcating a square! Bloody hell. Instruction was in Malay and English (why bother with English since it is not a compulsory Pass subject) ...what about the Aunty Tan, Uncle Lim, Uncle Raju??? Never mind...
''Ring....ringgg'' Nothing happened. Press again. "Ringg...rrrrringgggg" Nothing happened. What the %#$&#@! ? Press again. "rriinnggg....rriinngg..." And there was movement!!!! The door swung open. Oh yea, part of the instruction to stand behind the red tape so that one does not get hit by the opening door. So...I think DSH could possible get another heart patient from the frustration of trying to get through the door. Why not? drop dead right at the door step of CICU!!!
Anyway....the story continues.... I walked into the corridor and have no clue where Jee Ee though Toam said CICU. Typical of Malaysian excellent road signs....same at the hospital. I went up to the registrar and enquired. The nurse said there is no Saw Paik Choo...but there is a Saw Paik Lim. SAW PAIK LIM?????? err....not can't be. I told her that my aunt is in CICU. She took me there...around another maze and around 2 corners...there was the sign CICU!!!
I asked at the registrar (again another one) on Jee Ee...Saw Paik Choo. They said..there is no one by that name but there is a SAW PAIK LIM. Hmm.... I peeked into the CICU and there were patients lying around (not looking so cool) and the nurse told me that SAW PAIK LIM is in the room with the curtain drawn. I hesitated. I didn't want to walk into the room of another patient!
...I did. To my relief...I saw Neh Neh chee....and Jee Ee. She was up and recognized me immediately. We had a good chat and Pat came by. We hung around for about 40 minutes and said bye.
SSSOOOOO.... Saw Paik Lim... and it could have been the long lost aunt that Grandpa hid from us! :-) I wonder now....if the other EEs would have other names hidden up their sleeves.
Jee Ee went in this morning at 9am for her angiogram to check for clot vessels. Knowing her all these years, she will be fine as she is one of our strongest living aunt!
