'B' is for Bali & Bean

8 days in Bali sounded like a real fun thing to do. 3 days for the wedding then we could visit the mountains, go surfing, shopping and maybe even take a kite surfing course.

Day 1 - We stayed in far-far away, and were neighbours to the famed Tanahlot rock temple with a fresh water spring inside. Here's the temple from the hotel garden.

Day 2 - The fairy tale begins with a buddhist sunset wedding at the cliffs of Uluwatu and a stunning villa completed the scene.

A very happy Bean and her cousin Boo, performing their flowergirls duties. Toam Chi2 had to adjust the dress to fit her + add a tee-shirt liner for the very 'chiam' dress.

The ceromony began with my cousin Pascal taking a buddhist oath and was given a buddhist name. I forgot his name, i think he forgot too.

The theme was white - even Kam n Z were compliant. Z was so excited by the hanging lights, he hardly ate the whole night. We had dinner in the garden.

Even flowergirls get tired after a long night.

Day 3 - Returned to spend another day the villa. Pool is great, view even better and 3 masseurs were hired to provide massage all day.

Day 4 - The girls (Boo & Bean) wanted to visit the elephants . USD80 for Bean & me to ride on a poor elephant captured from Sumatera. Next destination - Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary.
Lunch performance from new kecak dancers - after watching 2 kecak performance, they can't wait to strut their stuff.

My cousin left the next day together with her camera. We were left to fend ourselves.

Day 5 - Kam wanted the holiday to quickly end. We had gone to Seminyak with the hotel shuttle and was left to walk, carry Bean & Z thru the narrow streets. Sorry Doreen, we walked into the Bintang for groceries but were not able to carry anything more.

Day 6 - visited Kuta beach. Bean & Kam several tones darker after the day in the beach. Z & i under the tree with the board rental guy. He didnt want to take care of Z, so i didnt rent his board. Bean got her nails painted as compensation for cancelled afternoon beach session. That night - I wanted to go home too.

Day 7 - Kuta beach again. Bean just love the waves. We bodyboard together - so it is a family activity. We walked 200m of shopping where the car dropped us, to get to the beach. Manage to cover 5 shops i think, including McD for lunch.

Day 8 - i have a fever but we (M'sia airport) don't have a scanner so i will not be quarantined. We made it home - despite engine failure, 30min with no aircon in a plane and a 4-year old asking - are we there yet?

Next holiday, Bean will be 18 years old and she may not want to come with us.
