Since I cant speak for everyone, I might as well speak for my self.
Blogging is much simpler than talking to someone face to face. You're comfortably sitted in your office/home. You can think of the best word to use to describe/express your self. Other than standing face to face with one of your relative for 5 whole minutes while you think of the best/funniest lines you can scramble through your brains.
Furthermore, truth be told, whilewe I was growing up, i more or less mixed with jimboy, chee kean, doreen, gaik, (pat, peter, andrew, keat, hock (sometimes only, due to age gap diff), then occasionally singaporeans cousins like jee-ku children.) when i was even smaller, ah hian used to visit me in pokok assam to play with me. Other than ah hian, i dont think i ever played with his other siblings. we also see funny cheok once a while in singapore. mooi-mooi chee when we gather for our annual penang trip. gee ee kids were all adults already, except for one that i played his atari when i visited them, i think that is the one with the only grandson in his family. And he was quite funny then, if i remembered correctly, same league with ah cheok. sar ee got no kids, so that we scrap. 4 ee, 5 ee, 6 ee kids were all in taiping, so that is normal. then 3 ku kids, which we seldom mix as well.
In short, the blogs and emails are one hell of a tool to get in touch with long lost cousins and cousins we dont really see normally. But maybe one day on less formal occasions, when all the saw clans can meet and stay together for a 3 days 2 nights thing, when we are all relax in our swim trunks/bikinis then maybe we will be at ease like what we are doing now.

We used to come over to your Pokok Assam house often cos you had Atari. And your mi will make us lunceon meat sandwich in the oven toaster and drink from the zodiac mugs. Highlight of my weekend! Cos if we go gaik's house, Uncle Ong will make us wash our feet each time we come into the house and he'll scold us if our hands touch the wall! But Gaik and I had some good weekends too, bathing in the garden with the hose, playing masak-masak, maggi mee every evening. And they had big Lego sets.
i think pong is not atari. is just a tv game set. how come i dont recall luncheon meat sandwich in toaster one ? i remembered i cannot lose in monopoly one, else i cry very loud ! true tiger spirit ! yes we still have those zodiac sign mugs !
wow ! bathing in the garden with hose ! goldwind must have been spying on you then !
