Now for the desserts...

After our Gu Bak Noodles and some shopping, it's time to have our desserts - ice cream! Obviously Doreen is taken by surprise by the photo shot & some one else thinks Tim's ice cream flavor is more tasty!

Our KL Monorail ride & "Gu Bak" dinner

My kids's first monorail ride in KL.... also first attempt at the (most delicious) Gu Bak Noodles located somewhere in Bukit Bintang Area. Looks like Daniel is asking for his third helping & Pat is explaining to us how Gu Bak is slaughtered in KL!!

The Star Wars Trilogy....how it is really is...

Far far away....in the galaxy....there is the Saw Clan....

***************
This is how it all began...
Jedi Peter :
June is here and so i tasted my first durian yesterday at Penang . An update for the durian lovers. Harvest has been slow this season, must be the bats losing th art of mating causing the problem of late flowers. I was at Taiping last weekend and a couple of new things are sprouting up. There is a Taiping Sentral hub coming up minus the LRT, just beside the new Tesco building under construction. Where is this located?.....where the old Istana is, on Swettenhem Road . If i can't locate my mom next time i call home, i will try Tesco! Cheok, have you been preparing your tour itenary to take kai kai the 5 ees who are going to Singapore ,...are they staying all at your place or Gee Ku's place? And,....I was at Jim Boy's house on Sunday picking up Daniel, and in his hall, and wow...Jim Boy has two glass cabinets full of Star Wars memorablia .....impressive ....May the force be with you!

Back from Redang

I had a nice break on my favourite island and had some great dives. I have now clocked in 58 dives in my log and I am getting better at it.

It was also a good trip as there were only 3 of us divers. Thus, a small and cozy team! Plus, one of them was also an avid beginner in photography....so it was fun. Here are some of the photos and more in my web album.

Nick's Durian Celebration

These durians are just "Starters"... we have another 3 more to complete the birthday celebration. Didn't bring candles to put on the prickly thorns as I was afraid the stall owner may think we were trying some prank or plain weird! Ha... ha... By the way, any one who's planning to come to Spore in future can also be treated to such durians feasts! (no need to be your birthday, ok?)

Here it is ...the Birthday Bash...

....... "500m after the Zoo Negara entrance...you should see Petronas Gas Station on your left. Then slow down....immediately on your left....you see an Aulong type house and that's the restaurant." Sharon Goh

Goodness and by all miracles, we all got there on time as schedule!

And it was a nice dinner. Before dinner started, I started taking some photos of the VIP guests....

Okay, now you all figure out who the kids are. :-) The are the products of the Goh family (Sharon & Daniel).
While we were eating....the kids were having a blast running around the Aulong house restaurant.

...Phew! Chuan....so many photos to upload. ...so please be patient for many more posting to come.

Of Catfish & Mudfish.....

Physical characteristics - Catfish

Catfish have no scales; their bodies are either naked or covered in bony plates. They may have up to four pairs of barbels: nasal, maxillary (on each side of mouth), and two pairs of chin barbels, although pairs of barbels may be absent, depending on the species. Because their barbels are more important in detecting food, the eyes on catfish are generally small. [1]

All catfish, except members of Malapteruridae (electric catfish), possess a strong, hollow, bonified leading spine-like ray on their dorsal and pectoral fins. These rays may be locked into place so that they stick outwards as a defense. In several species catfish can use these fin rays to deliver a stinging protein if the fish is irritated.[4] This poison is produced by glandular cells in the epidermal tissue covering the spines.[1] In members of the family Plotosidae, and of the genus Heteropneustes, this protein is so strong it may hospitalize humans unfortunate enough to receive a sting. In many catfish, these fins may be held open and locked in place.

Mudfish.....

I didn't find anything concrete about the mudfish on the internet. There are different articles about the mudfish, which is sometimes know as the bowfin, also related to the family of the shark species etc. The shark species is definitely known to have rubbery / leathery like skin. The mudfish also seems to be an ancient fish species.

......and they expect Primary 3 to know this!?!??!?!?!??

Can anybody answer this?

I couldn't believe it when I saw this question! And frankly, I dunno what is the answer when Tim asked me. Sigh! Anyone??

SHREK's castle??

At first glance, it looks like it was taken from the movie, "Shrek" or "Shrek 2". (no Donkeys around though!) But the Malaysian flag is a giveaway.... Actually, I've not been to the place & have forgotten the name. My parents & Keat have!
