SHREK's castle??

At first glance, it looks like it was taken from the movie, "Shrek" or "Shrek 2". (no Donkeys around though!) But the Malaysian flag is a giveaway.... Actually, I've not been to the place & have forgotten the name. My parents & Keat have!

Skyride

While everyone is busy giving out or receiving ang pows, eating kuey kah phek or sleeping, we are out here, giving ourselves a "fright/fun of our lives" (Nick & I are afraid of heights... as you can see in the photo) with the rest of the tourists at Sentosa!

Happy Valentine's Day!

To ALL the cousins.... Have a Lovely & Blessed Day!

The Essential Tidbit of CNY....Kueh Kah Pek

I remember those days where the sight of people making love letters over a hot charcoal stove. It is certainly a dying art.

Did the prince really sent love letters to his lover in form of this biscuit? .... we will never know...

New Year Harvest

We went fishing on 1 Jan 2007 at East Coast Park Jetty, S'pore, and look at the harvest we got! A total of 25! Actually it was Nick & his daddy who did all the fishing. You can see on the first photo that Nick is trying to catch the little fish which tried to escape! Not a chance, man!

Rescued animals.

Here are some dogs that we have rescued. What to do, we keep running into lost dogs. All are now with new homes. The first one is a Boxer names Tobias. We found him in the middle of the road, he was knocked by a car. Notice his paw plastered up and the cone is to keep him from chewing off the bandage.
The Shiz Tzu is called Brutus, real pampered pooch who doesn't like taking photos.
And the lovable but destuctive Beagle is Charlee. Charlee lived with us the longest. We would have kept her if not for the fact that Jacob and Charlee didn't quite get along. They would play but Charlee was very rough so jacob ended up with wounds all over his body. But this Beagle really is very sweet. Chews everything in sight tho!

...Hokkien Dictionary..Back Again!!

AN CHUA(ahn-choo-ah)

Hokkien for "What's the matter?", "What's up?" or "How are things?" Heard very often as the first or second phrase used on a mobile phone."Hallo? Ah Kow? An Chua?"

AMACAM (Contributed by Mat)(ah-much-ahm)

A contraction of the Malay greeting, "Apa Macam" which is the Malay equivalent of "What's up?" or "What's happening?""Eh, Ramli! Long time no see! Amacam?"

Uncle George's Birthday in Taiping (21 Oct 2006)

A couple of photos from the birthday. Jim Boy was there too but we didn't get any shots of him. What a waste!
